Both of these images are used in the video as eye focus shots. We choose to get shots of both of our eyes as it shows that we saw eye to eye after our relationship had ended. We choose to show them both at different points in the video as it then showed the differentiality between our lives. The idea of the video was to portray the relationship between me and Roger, and how alcohol and drugs constantly got in the way and ruined things. I turnt into this weird addict, and just end up splitting us up. So throughout the video you see how 'Alice'reacts to the drugs and how it connects her with 'Wonderland'.
After we had worked with all our eye close ups, we were able to edit and combine the two characters together through our introduction to the music video and establishing the two leading characters, and their connection - through the lyrics. After playing about and decided how we was going to sync our characters, originally planning to use an action match, we decided to use Final Cut Express. It was a really good chance to practice and improve our editing skills and developed skills that we never had. It enabled us to create shots such as the one shown above where we overlapped the close up of My eye, fading over and into a medium shot of Roger singing directly to the camera and to the audience, including the audience as part of the song, as if Roger is singing to them, and again using that eye focus that really draws the audience in to the video, showing a large connection and bringing entertainment and interest.
